Question #2 - How can you help me make more money?
Key word = money. Talking about real money and real return on ad spend is what typically separates the high value companies from the pretenders. You have to have an honest conversation about money with any PPC company that you consider hiring. No company can guarantee a certain result but they should be able to honestly assess your situation and help you understand both your financial risk and the possible rewards. The risk should be worthy of the potential reward – it should add up.
If you are in Ecommerce, you need to talk with them about your gross revenue, gross profit, net profit and the kind of return on ad spend you need to see. If you have a lead generation website, you need to talk with them about your lead cycles, how much you can afford to pay per lead and what lead to sale conversion percentage you need to see in order to make profit. If you are not willing to be this transparent with your PPC company, then get willing – do whatever you have to do – have them sign an NDA. They need to know the specifics of how your business operates in order to truly help you and ensure that you get a good return on your investment with them. Any Pay Per Click company who does not want to understand specifically how the financials of your business operate as they relate to your PPC advertising is not qualified to help you.
What they do for you has to be measurable and made fully accountable – it has to show up on your bottom line. I don’t care how fancy their company is or how nice they are to you on the phone. If they can’t show you, over the short, medium and long term, how their Pay Per Click solutions make real business sense in real business numbers (like profit and loss), then run away from them and never look back.
